And a Happy New Year!!!

I had so much fun on christmas!!!! I laughed so hard all day...it seemed everyone had funny quips and all, as if they were saving it for this day. I got lots of nice prezzies, my fav is a pair of pretty pink slippers, so cozy and cute! Sometimes the simplest gifts are best. This week I am thinking about my New Year's resolutions....it is a tradition I can't seem stop...at this time of year I am ready for new goals!

Happy Anniversary!

It is our 13th Wedding anniversary today!!! We have had tons of good times and a beautiful daughter who is 12. My husband is a great cook and has always provided for us....making it possible for me to be an artist. He burped and changed diapers..... he cleans the kitchen too. My husband has never ever yelled at me, called me any name, or treated me unkind....not one time! He rarely has a drink. He is very sweet and treats me like a queen. He does sooooo much for us and asks for so little. He is truly one of a kind. He loves to watch the zags and Seattle Seahawks... and I watch with him. He always helps with quilt and craft show...his favorite part is running the cash register! We watch shows as a family and do most everything togther. IT is a wonderful life! Thanks to Dana!

Success

Hi!
I went antique shopping on saturday and found a wonderful old arithmetic book published in 1883 for 3 dollars!! In the book of well aged pages was a little poem clipped from a paper...I want to share it with you.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
If you're afraid of a setback or two,
If you're afraid of a jolt or a jar.
If hard work is something which terrifies you,
then stay where you are
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If more than a chance for success you desire,
If you're afraid of a blow and its smart,
If you've no pluck for the fight when you tire. You'd better not start.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If you can't trudge through the rain and snow. Forgetting the calm of an easier task,
If always the comforts of life you must know.
For glory don't ask.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If you can't stand to the battle alone, can't cling to your purpose through thick and thin,
If pleasure means more than the goal you would own,
You've no chance to win.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If you've the will to be somebody here, If stronger your spirit rebounds from a blow, If you will work for it year after year,
Success you may know.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Also at the antique store I got old christmas tags and seals, never opened from their packages (what a treasure), an old ledger book, easter bunny die cuts, old christmas magazines from 1965 (before I was born, they sure made some dorky stuff!) It was an all paper haul.

Candy Cane Dreams

Here is yet another image for you, use for personal use only. Click on the picture and copy. I just had one of those huge cany cane sticks and made it into a dangerous pointed weapon ... not on purpose though. That 's what happens when you are eating it and watching shows like survivor....before I knew it the candy cane was sharp!

Our most Wonderful dog, Linus was put down recently...he was 12...very sick...very special to us. WE will miss him greatly....he was a great friend and protector. He and my daughter grew up together and he loved to play with her....they were best friends. I knew she was safe in the yard with him, he would never let anything come into our yard. He never minded all the cats we brought in through the years....he accepted everyone. He loved walks and mac and cheese! WE love you Linus!!!!

Auld Land Syne- old long since

This is a scan you can use from an extremely old source...use it for your own personal use....click on it to get the larger size and save a copy for yourself. I think it would be a lovely background for some New Years artist trading cards! I love Scottish things....cause my dad comes from Scotland. Auld Lang Syne means old long since. Here in Spokane Washington it is a whopping 18 degrees as a high. I went outside briefly and then got my tail right back inside....I am glad I am an artist instead of a mailman(I was once) today. Stay warm today and have a cup of cocoa...I had mine with lots of marshmellows.

Happy New Year..........Early!

It is the most under decorated holiday of the year..... New Year's eve and day! We are too tired to decorate...because Christmas has worn us out. These flash cards are simple to decorate with, simply print them, cut out and place where ever throughout the house...instant new year's decorating. The words can be made into a lil garland too.... by attaching them with ribbon on the back with glue.

I will be adding something interesting in a day or two....freebies.

In the old days....

This picture is me by the way....when I was 2 or 3....mastering the tricycle. (1970) Look at the old TV in the background. That is before our house was on fire.....nothing worse than your toys and paper dolls getting ruined! We were all shopping at a store called valuemart....we were all safe and our dog and cats got out safely too! Our dog broke through the window and the cats probably followed.

Ready for Halloween!

Selina my daughter and Lucky (one of my cats) are ready for Halloween. Selina is going to be a goth girl and Lucky is working on being the fattest cat in Washington state. He is over 20 pounds....last time we weighed him....I told him he could stop! Selina is very excited for 2 Halloween parties. She may skip trick or treating because we won't have time to do it(one party) and she never eats any of the candy anyway.
When me and my sisters and brother were young....we loved trick or treating because it was the one chance to get major candy...all for ourselves, no sharing. We filled up our pillow cases with candy. We grew up with no chips in the house, no pop, the only snack was toast. My mom simply had no money for those things! We ate well at meals and there were no snacks....maybe popcorn when there was a special movie to watch. Even kool-aid lasted only at a meal...you got one glass. Those were the days!!!! I wish I could spend one day back in time to see my Mom again... making popcorn or cinnamon rolls.
