Kitty is sick!

Hi everyone!  My kitty cat Froy is very sick...I am racking up a huge vet bill.
I am so worried about him.  He is such a sweetie and so lovable.  I also have to get ready for the Farm Chick show which is this weekend...June 4 and 5th at the Spokane Fairgrounds.  It seems like things always happen at once.

Wednesday update: Thanks for your support everyone!!!
Froy is getting a tiny bit better, still worried if he is eating and drinking enough. He hates antibiotics and forced feedings...but he purred afterwards with me, so that was good.
New Update....Froy is alot better...not 100% yet, but getting close!!!

Freebie Friday- Colonial paper currency

Money sure has changed!  These old colonial papers are so cool.

Seems like they still used shillings sometimes instead of dollars.

I would think people could counterfeit them but they didn't have the tools we have now.  When I was in Scotland...I had a hard time figuring out if something was a good price or not....trying to convert the money in my head....lol.
Have a great Memorial day weekend!

Felting wool into pins

I love to felt wool roving into wool scraps to make pins.  I have a barbed felting needle, take a little wool roving, foam chunk to poke through, wool scrap in oval shape, and felt it into a wild kitty.  It is important to pay attention when needle felting....I have poked my own finger.

It takes only minutes to felts these babies.  I added buttons eyes and embroidery floss whiskers.

These are great to do while watching tv, especially when some of these shows recap everything to death!

This one looks like a sugar cookie.... doesn't it!  I took the 2 heart shapes (front and back) and stitched them together using a buttonhole stitch.  then I add a pinback to the back.
I hope you try needle felting...it is addicting and fun!

Sweetness

Ok....she is not exactly sweet...but she was somebodies baby once!
I love old photos...I love to collect them and use them in my art...but I also love to know these people had hopes and dreams, just like us.  I know her life was harder than mine....we are lucky to be alive now.
This is what she would say...."I am one frozen entree away from a nervous breakdown."  lol.

Freebie friday- Angel cat

This is the friday freebie for today!  This is a little drawing I did.....for all of us who have cats that act so angelic or innocent.  I had a most wonderful cat named Sally....she passed away about 5 years ago.  When she was young...I would get home from delivering mail....so tired.  I would go to my bathroom and on the floor would be sally and about 6 dead butterflies (or about to die).  She would lay there so angelic like she didn't do anything but give me presents.  I hated to see all the butterflies dead, but on the other hand she is an animal on the prey.  I told her to stop...and after a few months she never did it again.  Maybe she got rid of the population?
This drawing would be cute made into a small stitchery pin or made up in wool!

Those darn cats

Selina caught this wild striped tiger in the garden....also known as Froy.  He wasn't ready for a picture.

But now he is ready for his photo op.  CrAZY eyes!

Trix wants to get away from the pesky boys.  My cat Lucky was sleeping the day away on my daughter's bed...his usual routine.  The sun is actually shining today....it is a miracle!

Pie tin fun

I found these old pie tins in my garage....in a big rusty dirty pile...didn't even know they were there.  I was determined to make them come alive again!

I just glued on old music paper, burlap, an old photo from a book, buttons and tag (which I typed out on my old typewriter).  This one says " Think big thoughts...but relish small pleasures".

This one is my favorite sayings ever since our economy turned yuck.
"Tough times don't last....Tough people do!"

Found this pic of one kid crying so it was a natural.
"Put on your big girl panties and deal with it".  I just glued a hanger on the back....E6000 is a wonderful glue.
Let me know if you have any ideas for old rusty pie tins!!!  I would love to hear from you!

These are sooooo inexpensive to make....I love to make things that are recycled or made with super cheap supples.  The scottish comes out in me.

Nothing cheaper than party streamers, discarded books and lil snippite of ribbon.
