Trick or Treat mouse

Here is my newest Halloween pattern ...Trick or treating mouse & lantern pattern.

I am showing different shots of this lil guy. This lil mouse is going Trick or treating with his lit up lantern. He is sitting on a frosty leaf with candy corns and has a banner sign to hold. This makes a great gift & cheerful display!
 Measures: 11 1/2" wide including leaf stem x 6 3/4" high.
Here is a shot in the darkness....very cool in person.

Other words/phrases included for mouse sign are: Sweet as candy, EEK!, Yikes!, Merry Hallowe'en, and Just call me wicked. This pattern is on my Etsy.  Thanks to my friend De for the idea of having this lil mouse on the leaf!

Sunflowers and Love freebie

I missed Freebie Friday ...again....time goes by so swiftly!  It really does seem like summer days just drift by so fast, before you know it, we will be school shopping.  I wanted to grow sunflowers this year, but didn't get around to it....it also didn't help that summer temps have taken forever to get here in the pacific northwest.  We have not even hit 90 degrees yet this year!  What's up with that?

Mini Mannequins!

This is my new Mini Mannequin & Tomato pincushion pattern.

These mini mannequins are fun to make and are so adorable. The tomato pincushions are so quick and fit onto your spool of thread. Both designs take only scraps and make great gifts!
Mannequin measures: 2 7/8" x 5 3/4" not including stand. Mannequin with stand: 2 7/8" x 7 1/4" (depending on stand chosen).  Tomato pincushion measures: 1 3/4" wide x 4" long including stem.
These pincushions are great to use up your fabric scraps and so easy too! What a useful tool to have by your side because they are small and easily accessible. The mannequin and tomato make great gifts, friendship swaps, and fabulous sellers at craft shows.
This is on my etsy.
Also on my Patternmart.
Also also on my Pattern cupboard.

My Studio- Hudson's Holidays

Hi Everyone.  I am Shirley of Hudson's Holidays.  I create craft and quilting patterns...over 160 in my line.  I also make digital collage sheets.   This is my studio...one I work in everyday (how I make my living- full time)....I have stations for everything and I took over my whole basement!

This is the first thing you see when coming downstairs... "Flo" my mannequin, she goes to all my shows too.  Right now she is wearing my fabric flower necklace and hankies.

I picked up this shelf at the thrift store....painted it blue and put my paints in it...so handy.  I recycle and buy at thrift shops for my studio....no debt or credit cards this way.  I do what I can and enjoy it so much.

This is my favorite table...I do paper crafts and collage here.  I love having all my pens and supplies close at hand.  My workspaces are cluttered and full of supplies.  LOL
Fun happy space. I wish my studio could look like a magazine spread (boy do I love ALL the art/craft magazines) but real work goes on here and it isn't picture perfect....but I LOVE it here.

My light box is in the background.....I made it to photograph small items.  It has made a huge difference in my pictures.  Check out "how to make light boxes" on the internet.

This cubby hole was $4.95 ...so awesome!  I love my old typewriter.

Dawn dolls having a fashion party!

My cricut area.....I love my cricut.  This is a mouse pin cushion I made, he is sitting in a pie tin.

Light box and florals for backgrounds.

This is mailing center and gluing center...got to have these spots.

One day at a time....a painting I made this year.

Pink pooch guarding the pens.

My witch is getting ready for halloween.

I made a message board from an old fence.

The place where I write patterns, sell, copy...you know ...the real work...all the rest is play.

Entering my sewing area.  I put an old tide box covered with fabric on my table to catch scraps.

My cutting table and sewing room.  I inherited the cutting table and loads of fabric when my mom passed away....I feel she would be soooo proud of me.  I lost her when I turned 30 and my only child was 20 days old.

I love sewing on this old door...that is what the table really is.  My Quilting machine is in another building besides my house (it is a huge party room and another huge room is storage)....it was to big for my basement :(

My goodies...I love collecting.  I love creating with flash cards.

I made tons of little labels, so cute!

Sweet sachets.

I got to have tv when working or music.

I saved the best picture for last.....my daughter Selina....my crafting buddy.  She is a great artist and is ready to sell her wares too.  I try to teach her all I can.  I want to have more pics up in a day or so.
Thanks for stopping by!!!!!

Fun stuff in my studio

In a few days I am participating in Where bloggers create.  So I wanted to take a few pics of interesting things in my studio.  The above painting is one I did on old music paper.....with my needle-felted eggs.

Here is my baby head that cost my 15 cents....I will probably never do anything with it.  Next to it is a beautiful star made from "Ma, Pa, and Me".  I just love the baby pic in the old bottlecap.

When I bought all these diamond gems from the craft store...my daughter was in heaven.  In the center is my wrapped fabric rose ring.

I like to take those wedding pedals at the dollar store and figure out what to do with them....Marie antoinette is surrounded by them.

My "Love" heart.

I love Raggedy...this one I got froma lovely lady... Shelia Frederick....she makes some awesome dolls and other goodies.

Here is alot of hanging items near my computer desk.  The love is free motion sewing....fun to do.  Below that is a sweet Fairy Mermaid made by Sue Burger....Futile fairy.

I have stuff everywhere....don't call the show "Hoarders" on me.

Raggedy again....she keeps getting in the photos.

I loved play money as a kid....so I had to purchase these from the  The Hillyard Antique stores in Spokane.

I love a huge jar of sewing supplies...got this in the tri-cities.

This is my fav saying in my studio.  Half the battle for any project is just starting it.
Catch the studio blog party on Friday!  I love to see other artists play areas!

Freebie stitchery design- Gone with the wind

Yes, It is Friday freebie....where has the time gone?  I love this saying from Gone with the wind.  That Scarlet got it right....she was one strong woman (slightly naughty too).  I always get in a heated discussion in my family about the movie.....I say Ashley was the best man.  My daughter and other family members greatly disagree and say Rhett was awesome.  I say Ashely was tender, loving, honorable, and cute.  And after all Scarlet thought he was great for most of the movie...lol.  Would you like to be left on the road to Tara...while Rhett tries a last ditch effort to help his brothers?  or relief his conscience?  Oh well....my family has said the other side as well.
Stitch away!

Get ready for Halloween!

It is never too early to work on Halloween projects!  Before you know it....fall will be upon us.
This pattern above is on sale for $3.99 until Monday July 11th on my patternmart
There is nothing like working with wool or felt.   It is so forgiving and you don't have to be perfect, because it will look great anyway.  All of my patterns can be made up into the finished products and sold on etsy, ebay, and craft shows!   I love seeing my designs made up on the internet and at shows.  I am always amazed when I am just shopping at a local craft show and someone has made up my mannequin or stitchery or other designs.
I have been sooooo busy lately, seems like days are just flying by.  I hope you all are having an amazing summer so far!
